While prowling around Corto Maltese’s old haunts in Venice this week, my wife Lorraine Turner and I stopped at the city’s one and only comics shop: ZAZÀ, and spent some time visiting with our new friends Giacomo Vella and Tommaso Listo. They’re great guys, who graciously put up with our (very) limited Italian and showed us some of their favorite Italian comics. The “fumetteria” carries an exceptional variety of comics for all age groups and tastes. For those who plan a trip to Venice, don’t miss ZAZÀ, Calle dell’Olio o del Cafetier, Sao Polo, 2424 – Venezia, and tell them Dean sent you! Above left to right: Tommaso Listo, Dean, and Giacomo Vella.
