Welcome to 2026, and the still-new year seems to be an appropriate time to ballyhoo LOAC’s two newest projects. Partnered with the good folks at Clover Press, The Library of American Comics has begun softcover series of two of our favorite newspaper strips: Chester Gould’s Dick Tracy and The Amazing Spider-Man, as launched by one of the wall-crawler’s all-time dream teams, John Romita Sr. and Smilin’ Stan Lee!
As you can see by the montage above, each paperback in the Tracy series will reprint exactly one year of daily and Sunday strips, while also featuring new covers prepared by a diverse selection of contemporary artists — above you can see the work of (left to right) Jerry Ordway, Steward Kenneth Moore, and John K. Snyder III, with others to come!
Meanwhile, in Manhattan’s super-powered streets, ol’ Web-head rides again in his own series of one-year-of-strips-per-book softcover releases!
Because this is the 21st Century, both the Spidey and Tracy softcover series are available through a variety of means, with extras and price points to fit every budget. Your favorite bookseller can tell you more, or you can zap on over to the Clover Press website for complete details.

I hope I’m on the right page? I just want to make a suggestion if you folks can publish {in hardback} the Complete Daily and Sunday newspaper comic strip of the mid 1960’s called Tales of the Green Beret, written by Robin Moore and illustrated by Joe Kubert.

Yup, your message went to a valid spot, and thanks for writing! Everyone here at LOAC has read and likes “Tales of the Green Beret,” and a number of years ago we explored republishing it. There were some business hurdles to clear at the time, but perhaps those hurdles have vanished over time. We can check and see. Thanks for your suggestion!
