Some of you sharp-eyed gumshoes guessed correctly from our teasers that we are bringing back our favorite hard-boiled detective with larger than ever editions of the first six volumes that were originally published by IDW beginning way back in 2006!
The Library of American Comics took over the series with volume seven and immediately increased the trim size to allow the Sunday pages more room to breathe. Ever since, larger versions of the first six volumes has been one of the most frequent requests LOAC has received! We are thrilled to finally be able to make this a reality!
The contents of these new editions will be exactly the same as the previous editions, with black and white dailies, Sundays, and all the same essays and interviews by Max Allan Collins. The first IDW volume included color scans of the pre-continuity Sundays, and we are happy to provide new color restorations for these stories!

We discussed the current state of going back to press on out-of-print volumes in this posting from February 16th: http://libraryofamericancomics.com/fomo-equals-bntbs/. That’s still an accurate reflection of the current reality, but one never knows if or when things might change!
any plans on hardcover issues of the post Gould years. Most of Collins has never been reprinted

I like better the more subdued colors of the old IDW edition.

Hey, Angel — I assume you’re referring to colors on the dust-jackets, since the interiors in both the original and reformatted books are in black-and-white? And while I can’t speak to any message you may have sent other than this one (this is the only one on this topic I’ve seen from you), we received this message on March 28 and I’m writing this reply on March 29 — I like to think that’s a pretty reasonable rate of response, hope you do, too!
This is another request for the reissuing of the volumes after 1-6. The used books 7-29 are prohibitively expensive. I wish I could find them at the prices listed on this website. Any update would be appreciated.
Hey, Cy –We’d love to have all our backlist perpetually in print — and for several years, that was the case — but time passes and conditions change. Since TRACY is one of our most popular series, getting the volumes after Number Six back into print would be high on our list if the situation allows for new printings from our line. For now, we’ve counted your vote and we promise to ballyhoo any new editions of any of our books once the situation allows for it.
Consider me another Tracy fan very interested in reprints of volumes 7-29. Having read a heap of Tracy in my youth through film tie-in collections in the UK that covered Gould through Max Allan Collins, I’ve only just become aware of these comprehensive premium format editions. Behind the times, I know… Will be monitoring the reprint situation, hoping things change.
Probably this question was asked already. Will you reprint the Collins/Fletcher/locker era anytime in the future.
